How to Increase Productivity when travelling for work

There can be a lot of lost time during travel, and a bad trip causing unhappy people will have an impact on their work during the time away. So, here are out Top Tips for improving productivity when travelling.

TIP 1 – WORK ON THE GO

  • An effective laptop/mobile – lightweight and quick to use
  • Good connectivity – a data dongle for the laptop?
  • Additional equipment – such as headphones, carry case etc
  • Apps – such as audible to listen to audiobooks and further their knowledge

TIP 2 – BOOK COMFORTABLE ACCOMMODATION

Booking comfortable accommodation, especially for longer stays, is vitally important. People staying in uncomfortable or noisy rooms will not enjoy their stay, have reduced quality sleep and this will be reflected in their work during that time.

So for long stays, of a few days or more, look for accommodation that can be a ‘home away from home’ feel for them. Somewhere they can relax in the evening and unwind so that they feel refreshed for the following days’ work.

Did you know, Pure Luxury Living Serviced Apartments all come with fast WiFi, Netflix enabled Smart TVs, spacious lounges and comfortable bedrooms to provide that hassle free, home away from home feel – ideal for stays of 3 nights or more and more cost effective for longer stays.

TIP 3 – CHECK IN WITH YOUR TEAM

It is good practice to check in with your team when they are travelling, especially if it is their first time travelling away for your company. As the person who has booked their travel and accommodation, you want to ensure that all has been as expected and that there are no issues.

Pure Luxury Living have had Senior Directors to groups of contractors stay with us for weeks or months at a time and we know first-hand how first impressions and a good night’s sleep can affect a person. So be in contact with the person travelling, find out if anything was not as expected and contact the hotel, Serviced Accommodation Operator or Agency to put it right.
